CHANGE NAME OF WATER RESOURCES MANAGEMENT PLAN TO
COMPREHENSIVE STORM WATER PLAN
Staff Input
At the present time the City has two significant planning efforts in progress. The Water
Resources Management Plan is being conducted by the engineering firm of Bolton &
Menk Inc. and is intended to provide a comprehensive model of our existing storm sewer
system and the future needs of that system as development occurs. However it also
contains a significant element which involves the classification of the remaining wetlands
which were not ground - truthed under the previous work conducted by Westwood
Professional Services in 2006. In addition the City is currently preparing a Natural
Resource Inventory which is being conducted by Boonestro & Associates. The field work
elements associated with these studies have been confused, and the word "resources" in
each of them also tends to make them less distinguishable from one another.
Staff proposes to hereafter refer to the Water Resources Management Plan simply as the
Comprehensive Storm Water Plan as this title is more descriptive of the purpose of the
plan.
Action:
None required.
-274-
