We have <br />reviewed the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety (DPS) database periodically in the past for <br />this intersection, but the database has not shown an accident history of significance (2004 =1 crash <br />91112004). Following the 2/10/2006 fatal crash, we again reviewed the DPS database.. Because the 2005 <br />crash data was not yet available in the DPS database, we requested copies of the 2005 Accident Reports <br />directly from the City of Ramsey Police Department. In discussions with Ramsey PD, they indicated that <br />2 crashes occurred at the intersection in 2005, but then added that 7 crashes occurred in 2004. Since this <br />conflicted with the information that was ref ected in the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety <br />database for 2004, we asked Ramsey PD to provide us with copies of the 2004 and 2005 Accident Reports <br />they had written for this intersection. We then consulted with MnDOT for an explanation. This resulted in <br />the discovery of errors (missing accident records) in the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety <br />database for the intersection of CR 57 at Alpine Drive. As a result, MnDOT has now corrected the DPS <br />database for this intersection. <br />Our follow -up crash review indicates that an All -Way Stop is warranted at the intersection of CR 57 <br />(Sunfish Lake Blvd) at Alpine Drive on the basis of crash occurrence (5 or more reported crashes <br />occurring in a 12 -month period that are susceptible to correction by a mulit -way stop installation). The <br />Accident Rate is 2.84 per million vehicles (AR/mv) and the Severity Rate is 11.37 (SR/mv) for the <br />intersection.
