surprised at how well attended the event was in comparison to other open houses they <br />had facilitated. There were a lot of people with good questions. Approximately 30 <br />people signed in with various comments and responses. The field work has begun. <br />Approximately 65 percent of semi natural areas were completed. They were going to be <br />back out there throughout June so things are moving along. There are a few responses <br />still trickling in. <br />Chairperson McDilda commended Environmental Coordinator Anderson on the success <br />of the project. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Board Member Freeburg asked if there were any comments on Paul Anton's presentation. <br />Chairperson McDilda reported that it was excellent. He stated it is difficult to argue the <br />signs of economics as it pertains to preservation, and felt it was eye opening. <br />Board Member Freeburg asked Board Member Max for clarification about the <br />spreadsheet on the tree characteristics. He asked if there was a category for litter <br />generated by trees, such as with messy cottonwoods. <br />Board Member Max responded that a lot of people ask about that but everybody has their <br />own idea of what constitutes tree litter. He stated the answer is no, because it was too <br />difficult to classify. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />July Meeting Date (July 2) <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that Monday, July 2nd is the date of the next <br />EPB meeting. He asked if there was any interest in rescheduling the meeting due to the <br />July 4 th holiday. He recommended looking at rescheduling if nobody from Bolton & <br />Menk, Inc. can attend a meeting on July 2nd <br />Board Member Olds concurred with leaving the meeting date as July 2nd unless Bolton & <br />Menk, Inc. can't make it. <br />Board Member Max stated that July 2 was as good as any date since there will always <br />be someone who can't make it because of the holiday. <br />Chairperson McDilda suggested leaving the date as is since it appears there may be a <br />quorum. <br />Environmental Coordinator Anderson asked for consensus if July 2 doesn't work for <br />Bolton & Menk, Inc., would an alternate date of July 9 th work for everybody. <br />Consensus of the Board is that July 9 th as an alternative date will work. <br />Environmental Policy Board/June 4, 2007 <br />Page 5 of ,7 <br />
