She asked how the outside area will be facilitated
to make it safe being located right on a busy highway.
Chairperson Nixt explained the number of children will be regulated by State law according to
the square footage of the facility.
Commissioner Trites Rolle noted page 2 of the staff review letter states that the play area will be
fenced in.
Chairperson Nixt pointed out there is a daycare facility on the west side of County Road 47 with
fencing, and to his knowledge there have not been any incidents with children running out to
Highway 47 over the fence. The area proposed to be fenced is about 4,700 square feet, which is
about the same size as the expansion.
Motion by Commissioner Van Scoy, seconded by Commissioner Hunt, to recommend that the
City Council grant approval of the proposed site plan contingent upon compliance with the City
Staff Review Letter dated July 3, 2007, and contingent upon the granting of the Conditional Use
Permit. .
Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Commissioners Van Scoy, Hunt, Brauer, Levine, and Trites Rolle.
Voting No: None. Abstain: Chairperson Nixt. Absent: Commissioner Cleveland.
Case #4: Public Hearing - Request for Revised Preliminary Plat and Preliminary Site
Plan Review of Ramsey Town Center 6 th Addition; Case of D.R. Horton Inc. received final site plan and final plat approval
of Ramsey Town Center 6 th Addition in May of 2005. In November-2006, the City Council
granted an extension of final plat approval until May 2008. D.R.
