CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />Also Present: Interim City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Community Development Director Patrick Trudgeon <br />Economic Development Coordinator Sean Sullivan <br />Economic Development Consultant Mike Mulrooney <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Police Chief James Way <br />EDA Chairperson Chris Riley <br />Karen Skepper and Commissioner Berg of Anoka County <br />Paul Donna, Northland Securities, Inc. <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />1) Anoka County Economic Development Authority <br />Ms. Karen Skepper, Anoka County Community Development Manager /Assistant HRA Director, <br />was present to provide information regarding the recent authorization of the County HRA to <br />exercise the powers of an economic development authority. She stated on December 19, 2006, <br />the County Board appointed an 11 member citizen exploratory committee to look at whether or <br />not there are any gaps in economic development service throughout Anoka County.
