Councilmember Zimmerman felt that the City should oppose it and continue to support local <br />government. <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen felt that Anoka County is local government. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that Andover has requested opposition from their Council and <br />they know what they are doing. <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen stated that the County is saying we need right-of-way. It's said that <br />time is money for the developer and we always take the side of the developer. Right-of-way is <br />worth five times more money to us. It's our money - it's ridiculous. She asked that when Council <br />votes on the agenda, that they pull it from the Consent. She felt that the legislation is important <br />enough for the Road and Bridge Committee to deal with it. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Haas Steffen to table any <br />action on this case until the next Committee meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Beyer, Haas Steffen and Zimmerman. Voting No: <br />None. <br /> <br />Case #5: Discussion of Policy for Processing Traffic Calming Requests <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Haas Steffen to discuss this <br />case at the next Road and Bridge Committee as there is no time to discuss it this evening. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Beyer, Haas Steffen and Zimmerman.
