scheduled in the next few years and to prioritize them. He stated that the only thing we have on
the docket in the next five years is C.R. #116.

Councilmember Zimmerman wondered if C.S.A.H. #5 and T.H. #47 is more important than C.R.
#116.

Councilmember Haas Steffen felt absolutely not. The State will drive it but we do not want
County money to go anywhere but #116. The bridge over the river ought to be in there. To get
the alignment should be a priority. She added that Anoka County Commissioner Dennis Berg
feels the City is lacking on #116.

It was decided that a special Road and Bridge Committee meeting would be held on Monday,
May 19, 1997, at 5:30 p.m., to allow for more discussion on this issue.

Case #4: Receive Correspondence on Sunwood Drive Speed Limits

City Engineer Jankowski stated that the necessary studies to determine the appropriate speed
limits on the two newly constructed segments of Sunwood Drive had been completed and the
recommendations are as follows: The speed limit will be 40 miles (mph) on the western segment
through the Anoka Electric Cooperative Energy Park, and 35 mph through the eastern segment
between C.S.A.H. #5 and C.R. #57.

It was agreed that these speeds seem reasonable.

No action necessary.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to adjourn the
meeting.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Beyer, Zimmerman and Haas Steffen. Voting
No: None.

The regular meeting of the Road and Bridge Committee adjourned at 6:11 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

J~ Th~eling ---
~ecording Secretary

~t e~-~; Jankq/~/pl~
City Engineer

Road and Bridge Committee/May 13, 1997
