Case #6: Report on Swimming Pool Costs City Engineer Jankowski stated that he was directed to research the costs of a municipal swimming pool. He contacted several larger consultants who design and construct pools and other recreational facilities and he presented the informational packets he received. It appears if the City is looking at a municipal pool, you may be looking at a range of about $2 million - that's for an outdoor pool. Many communities are pursuing multi-recreational facilities - pools with community centers, senior areas, libraries, etc. Councilmember Haas Steffen suggested maybe the City should approach the school about doing something in conjunction with them. Mayor Gamec mentioned buying a brick for the pool in Anoka. No real consensus was reached.
