It will be held at Fire Station #1, located at 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, MN. Come meet your local firefighters, check out the cool equipment and see the "big red trucks". Stop by for a free lunch of hot dogs, chips & pop and visit with some of our special guests including: · North Memorial Aircare with a helicopter fly-in · Allina Medical Transport with an ambulance · Poison Control Center sponsored by Hennepin County Medical Center · Minnesota Conway Fire & Safety with fire extin- guisher sales and service · Safe Escape House provided by North Suburban Regional Mutual Aid Assoc. Fall Water Main Flushing in October The city of Ramsey Utility Depart- ment will be doing their semi-annual water main flushing beginning Monday, October 8 through October 24. Please be aware that this flushing, while it is necessary, will create a disturbance in the system causing low pressure and it may cause your water to be discolored. Although the water may be discolored by iron, it is fit for human consumption. It may, however, stain clothes that are being washed. To alleviate this problem, you may want to fill your washer with water and check on its clarity before adding your clothes. Get Involved: Serve as an Advisor to the City Council The city of Ramsey is looking for residents who are interested in participating in the governance of their community by serving as a board or commission mem- ber on one of its Advisory Commissions. The purpose of an advisory commission is to make specific recom- mendations to the City Council on current issues facing the city. New members will begin serving in January 2008 and terms typically last four years, with some exceptions. Meetings are held once per month at the Ramsey Municipal Center. Most Advisory Commission members are paid a $25.00 per meeting stipend. Please visit the city's website at www.ci.ramsey. mn.us and click on "Advisory Commissions" to view information on the current vacancies or to print an appli- cation. You may also call Human Resources at 763-576- 4301 for additional information or to receive an applica- tion. Advisory Commission seats are open until filled; however, the first review of applications is sched- uled for September 28,2007.
