Mayor Gamec introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #07-07-160 <br />I21?SOLUTION PROCLAIMING NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 2007 <br />WIIEREAS, the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) is sponsoring a unique, <br />nationwide crime, drug and violence prevention program on August 7, 2007 entitled "National <br />Night Out' ;and <br />WHEREAS, the " 24'h" Annual National Night Out" provides a unique opportunity for <br />Ramsey to join forces with thousands of other communities across the country in promoting <br />cooperative, police-community crime prevention efforts; and <br />WIIEREAS, it is essential that all citizens of Ramsey be aware of the importance of <br />crime prevention programs and the impact that their participation can have on reducing crime, <br />drugs and violence in Ramsey; and <br />WHEREAS, police-community partnerships, neighborhood safety, awareness and <br />cooperatiar are important themes of the "National Night Out" program. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1. "that the City Council of the City of Ramsey, Anoka County„ Minnesota, do hereby call <br />upon all citizens of Ramsey to join the Police Department and the National Association of <br />"Town Watch in supporting the " 24`h annual National Night Out" on August 7, 2008. <br />2. 'that in Ramsey, Tuesday, August 7, 2007 is hereby proclaimed as National night Out. <br />"I he motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Jeffrey and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Strommen <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />Resolution #07-07-160 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
