<br />PC CASE # <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />CONSIDER RESOLUTION REAPPOINTING <br />BOARD AND COMMISSION MEMBERS <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed Kone, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />On December 31,2007, the terms of three commissioners will expire: <br /> <br />Bob Bentz-Environmental Policy Board <br />John Letourneau-Economic Development Authority <br />Jon aIds-Environmental Policy Board and Park and Recreation Commission <br /> <br />Each of the above-named commissioners has been invited to apply for reappointment to a <br />four-year term on his respective commission(s). Mr. Bentz and Mr. LeTourneau are both <br />seeking reappointment to their respective commission. Mr. Jon aIds has indicated that <br />he is not seeking reappointment to the Environmental Policy Board or to the Park and <br />Recreation Commission. The pending vacancies on the Environmental Policy Board and <br />the Park or the Recreation Commission have been advertised, per City policy, along with <br />three vacancies on the Charter Commission. <br /> <br />Attached are the reapplication questionnaires submitted by Mr.Bentz and <br />Mr. LeTourneau. The responses to the questionnaires will be discussed at the August 28, <br />2007 Personnel Committee meeting and it is anticipated that the Personnel Committee <br />will make re recommendation regarding whether or not Mr.Bentz and <br />Mr. LeTourneau should be reappointed. As per the City's Policy for Appointing Board <br />and Commission Members, the Personnel Committee will be joined by the chair and vice <br />chair of the Environmental Policy Board and the Economic Development Authority to <br />discuss reappointment. <br /> <br />Funding Source <br /> <br />Board and commission stipends of $25 per meeting are budgeted for annually in the <br />Board and Commission General Fund Budget. <br /> <br />Committee Recommendation <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee recommends that the City Council accept its recommendation <br />to: <br />· Reappoint/not reappoint Bob Bentz to a four-year term on the Environmental Policy <br />Board <br />· Reappoint/not reappoint John LeTourneau to a four-year term on the Economic <br />Development Authority <br /> <br />PC 8-28-07 <br /> <br />G:lAdminiSlralionlHumanResourceslCommissionslAll Commissions (General Info and Recruitment)\Recruitment\2008 Recruitment (Terms Endi~g 12-31-07)18-28-07 Reso appt <br />commissioners.doc <br /> <br />-247- <br /> <br />
