<br />Ramsey Police Department Monthly Report <br />July 2007 <br /> <br />General Police Statistics and Highli2hts <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Minnesota Department of Corrections Inspection <br /> <br />On July 24th, 2007 the Minnesota Department of Corrections completed a final inspection <br />of the Ramsey Police Department Detention Facility. A few deficiencies were promptly <br />corrected and the State of Minnesota issued an occupancy certification authorizing the <br />use of this facility, effective August 14,2007. This facility is licensed as a Class IV <br />Detention Facility by the State of Minnesota and can be used to detain persons up to four <br />(4) hours. Officers are currently being trained in the policies and procedures for its use. <br /> <br />. Thefts From Hwy 10 Businesses <br /> <br />On July 21 S\ 2007 M&G trailer Sales and Elite Lift Truck (7575 Hwy 10 NW) had <br />commerciallawnmowers and trailers stolen from the outside storage area of the business. <br />Business security cameras recorded the theft. The video footage was given to the media <br />by the business owner and resulted in several leads to investigators. After a thorough <br />investigation, Joseph Campbell, was arrested and charged by formal complaint in this <br />case. <br /> <br />. Anoka County DWI Task Force <br /> <br />Ramsey hosted a DWI grant saturation which resulted in seven DWI arrests. Three other <br />saturations were conducted in the cities of Columbia Heights, Blaine, and Anoka, where <br />Ramsey officers made an additional four arrests. <br /> <br />· Animal Control <br /> <br />Seven dogs were impounded in July. Six were released to their owners and one was <br />adopted. <br /> <br />. Fireworks Complaints <br /> <br />Officers were dispatched to 36 complaints of noise and/or fireworks disturbing during the <br />month. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />-10- <br />
