the EDA may want to consider for the 2007 award. Mayor Gamec and Member Kiefer have
recommended Bank of the West as the 2007 Business of the Year.

Chairperson Riley requested information regarding the contributions of Bank of the West in
relation to the criteria. Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan stated Bank of the West
participated heartily in the Ramsey Happy Days event for five years through sponsorship of the
parade. The bank has also been very supportive of National Night Out. They also helped the
EDA in supplying a warm place to celebrate the redevelopment of the Amoco Station. Bank of
the West is well thought of in the community. Mr. Sullivan indicated the only nomination that
came from the Business Connection Meeting was Wells Catering.

Member Elvig inquired about job growth and the expansion of tax base associated with Bank of
the West. Economic Development Coordinator Sullivan replied all of these companies have not
expanded the tax base because they are already located in the City, although they attribute to the
tax base. Member Elvig noted Wells Catering has expanded and improved their facility and
sponsors activities in the City.

Motion by Member Elvig, seconded by Member Steffen, to award Wells Catering as the 2007
Business of the Year and to authorize staff to purchase a plaque to recognize this achievement.

Member LeTourneau noted Wells Catering is a growing business in the community, but a couple
of the other businesses have had a few more years in the community. He inquired what Wells
Catering has done to reach out to the community. He noted Coborn's has provided a lot to the
community, although it may be early for them to be presented with the Business of the Year
award. Zero Zone is a great company, and they have expanded.

The Board discussed the contributions of Wells Catering including hosting events III the
community, participation in Happy Days, and the upgrade of their facility.

Motion carried. V oting Yes: Chairperson Riley, Members Elvig, Steffen, LeTourneau, Steffen,
Voting No: None.
