County, M~nnesota <br /> <br />DA TE: August 14, 2007 <br />OFFERED BY COMlVIISSIONER: LeDoux <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #2007-97 <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR SPEED ZONE STUDY ON <br />CSAH S (NOWTHEN BOULEVARD) <br />FROM TH 47 (ST. FRANCIS BOULEVARD NW) TO ALPINE DRIVE <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the Anoka County Board of Commissioners is responsible for the planning, construction, <br />and maintenance of the county highway system; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the recognition for the need to study legally-ordered speed zones on segments of the <br />county highway system, in response to changes in traffic patterns, adjoining development and reconstruction <br />.. of highways, is a responsibility of the county board of commissioners; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this area has experienced increased residential/commercial development and traffic <br />volumes; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, officials in the City of Ramsey are concerned with the speed of vehicles traveling on this <br />portion of CSAH 5; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, t!.tis portion of CSAH 5 has not had a speed zone study completed or requested since <br />2004; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, officials within the City of Ramsey have requested that a speed zone study be conducted; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the conducting of appropriate eIlgineering studies and the establishment of safe and <br />reasonable speed limits on segments of the county highway system is by statute the responsibility of the <br />Minnesota Commissioner of Transportation: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Anoka County Board of Commissioners hereby <br />requests the Minnesota Commissioner of Transportation to conduct the necessary studies and prepare orders <br />for safe and reasonable speed limits on: . <br /> <br />CSAH 5 (Now then Boulevard) from TH 47 (St. Francis Boulevard NW) to Alpine Drive, <br /> <br />BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that certified copies of this resolution be forwarded to the Minnesota <br />Commissioner of Transportation and the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />ST.4.TE OF MINNESOTA) <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA ) 55 <br /> <br />YES <br /> <br />NO <br /> <br />L Terry L Johnson, County Administtaror, <br />Anoka County, Minnesora. hereby certify that I <br />have compared the foregoing copy of the <br />resolution of the county board of said county with <br />the original record.
