Murphy to be assessed for sewer and water costs to service his properties and reimbursed when
there are hook ups.

COMMITTEE INPUT

Change Name of Water Resources Management Plant to Comprehensive Storm Water
Plan

City Engineer Jankowski stated at the present time the City has two significant planning efforts
in progress. The Water Resources Management Plan is being conducted by the engineering firm
of Bolton & Menk, Inc. and is intended to provide a comprehensive model of our existing storm
sewer system and the future needs of that system as development occurs. However it also
contains a significant element, which involves the classification of the remaining wetlands,
which were not ground-truthed under the previous work conducted by Westwood Professional
Services in 2006. In addition the City is currently preparing a Natural Resource Inventory, which
is being conducted by Boonestro & Associates. The field work elements associated with these
studies have been confused, and the word "resources" in each of them also tends to make them
less distinguishable from one another. Mr. Jankowski advised staff proposes to hereafter refer to
the Water Resources Management Plan simply as the Comprehensive Storm Water Plan as this
title is more descriptive of the purpose ofthe plan.

Chairperson Elvig expressed his agreement with the proposed name change.

Receive Notice of Anoka County Application for CR 57 Alpine Drive Highway Safety
Improvement Project

City Engineer Jankowski stated included in the Committee's packet is a letter from Anoka
County Highway Department to MnDOT proposing the signalization of the intersection of
Alpine Drive and Sunfish Lake Blvd (CR57) as a candidate project for the Highway Safety
Improvement Program. Also included in the packet is a summary of the recent accident history
at this intersection.

Chairperson Elvig asked if there have been many accidents since all of the changes have been
completed, such as the double signs, etc.

City Engineer Jankowski replied the County Board action on this was almost one year ago.

Chairperson Elvig pointed out that he would consider other intersections in the City as more in
need of signalization than this intersection.

City Engineer Jankowski explained this intersection is eligible for a certain pot of money that the
other intersections are not eligible for.

Public Works Director Olson noted there were two fatalities at this intersection.

Public Works Committee / July 17, 2007
