Absent: Councilmember Elvig. <br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Public Hearing Request for a Conditional Use Permit for a <br />Telecommunications Tower in Alpine Park; Case of T -Mobile USA <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec closed the regular portion of the City Council meeting at 8:13 p.m. in order to <br />conduct a public hearing. <br /> <br />Public Hearine: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the public hearing to order at 8: 13 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br />Community Development Director Trudgeon stated that the City has been working with T- <br />Mobile to construct a tower in the City. He stated that they have looked at existing towers in the <br />area and these. do not meet their coverage requirements. He stated that the only site left which <br />would meet zoning requirements in the area was in Alpine Park and would need to be located on <br />the north side because of the landfill. He showed a map of the cell tower overlay district and <br />noted that a tower needs greater than 10 acres. He stated that the use would require a <br />Conditional Use Permit because there is no industrial land available that meets the needs for a <br />cell tower. He showed the proposed location on the Southwest comer of the property. He noted <br />that the tower will be a black monopole design within a 40 x 40 compound area that will be <br />surrounded by an 8-foot tall fence. He stated that staff has asked for some additional <br />landscaping around the fence to soften the look.
