<br />Public Works Director Olson indicated the current developer had to request a variance for the <br />cul-de-sac length. The City can require that the road be constructed in its entirety as part of any <br />plat coming forward~ <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated he supports the idea of an add-alternate as suggested by <br />Councilmember Dehen. He agrees with the cost factor comments the Mayor was making alSQ, <br />but the add-alternate will enlarge the pool of applicants. He inquired about adding language that <br />the house is available for rental property within a certain timing notification. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated he would like to backtrack on the suggestion regarding renting the property, <br />as one of the things the neighbors said ,:vas that they were hoping the City would not rent the <br />~ouse or just leave it there. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen verified with Public Works Director Olson that a benefit to doing this is <br />the ability to eliminate a lift station. <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated he is sensitive to the idea of renting the property, but the minute <br />that happens there could be an inferred deal where someone buys the house and may not be able <br />to afford to move it. He would recommend selling the house for relocation. They will also need <br />to determine the real cost before having the City do the filling. They need to move forward and <br />sell the structure, figure how to make the lot nice, and be done with it. . <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to declare the residence <br />located at 5860 - l57th Lane as surplus property and to authorize staff to advertise in the Anoka <br />County Union for its sale. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Olson, Jeffrey, Dehen, Elvig, and <br />Look. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Strommen. <br /> <br />Case #10: <br /> <br />Consider a Resolution Accepting the Resignation of a Part-Time Police <br />Records Technician and Authorizing Staff to Recruit to Fill the Vacancy <br /> <br />Interim City Administrator Nelson stated staff has received a letter of resignation from Kelly <br />Schmidt, part-time police records technician. Ms. Schmidt's last day of employment with the <br />City will be Friday, August 17, 2007. Staff recommends that the City Council accept Kelly <br />Schmidt's resignation and grant staff authorization to begin the recruitment process to fill the <br />part-time police records technician vacancy. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to adopt Resolution <br />#07-08-191 accepting Kelly Schmidt's resignation from a part-time police records technician <br />position and grant staff authorization to begin the recruitment process for a part-time. police <br />records technician. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
