<br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Public Works Committee in Case Nos. 1 and 2 and to authorize the <br />existing Policy Regarding Consideration of Traffic Control Requests to be modified accordingly <br />to allow staff to post Dead End signs after notification to the City Council through the Weekly <br />Update of its intent to post such signs, and to autl;lOrize staff to posta Dead End sign on the north <br />and south legs of 168th Lane at Nutria Lane; and to direct staff to present the three options <br />outlined in the PondvaJe feasibility study to the property owners, and to offer the option to :Mr. <br />Murphy that the City take on the costs associated with increasing the road width from 32 feet to <br />38 feet, with Mr. Murphy to be assessed for sewer and water costs to service his properties and <br />reimbursed when there are hook ups. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, COflllcilmembers Elvig, Olson, Dehen, Jeffrey, and <br />Look. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Strommen. <br /> <br />Committee Input <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated there has been some confusion between the Natural <br />Resources Inventory Plan and the Water Resources Management Plan. Staff is proposing to <br />hereafter refer to the Water Resources Management Plan simply as the Comprehensive Storm <br />Water Plan as this title is more descriptive of the purpose of the plan. <br /> <br />MAYOR, COUNCILAND STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />1. Appointment to Youth First Board <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec announced Jim Steffen who serves on the EDA also serves on the Rotary and has <br />asked whether he could serve on the Youth First Board. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to appoint Jim Steffen to replace <br />Larry Anderson on the Youth First Advisory Board. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Ehrig stated Jim Steffen has also assisted with the Boy <br />Scouts Finance Committee. Councilmember Jeffrey" stated Jim and Lisa Steffen have also <br />stepped up with the Ramsey Elementary School,picnic. Mayor Gamec stated Jim Steffen is also <br />on the Advisory Board with the Metropolitan CounciL He is very active with the community <br />and with youth. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Dehen, Jeffrey, Look, and <br />Olson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Strommen. <br /> <br />2. National Night Out <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey thanked Fire Chief Kapler, Police Chief Way and all the staff that <br />participated in National Night Out. He stated it is one of his favorite nights to visit with folks. <br />The one comment heheard often is the question of why they cannot have the speed limit on city <br />streets at 20 mph.
