The [mal budget will be adopted on December 11, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. The <br />levy will be discussed in work sessions until the final adoption in December- Ms. Lund advised <br />the levy can be lowered but cannot be increased after the preliminary adoption. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey,. to ratifY the <br />recommendation of the Finatlce Committee in Case No.2 and to adopt Resolution #07-09-236 <br />Approving the Proposed 2007 Payable 2008, Tax Levy, with the statement that this will be <br />discussed further at a later date, and to setthe Truth in Taxation Hearing for December 3, 2007 at <br />6:00 p.m. with a reconvene date of December 10, 2007 at 6:00 p.m., if necessary. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ganlec, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Dehen, Look, <br />Olson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />. 3) Review and Adopt "Proposed" 2008 General Fund Budget <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Ehrig, seconded by CounCilmember Jeffrey, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Finance Committee in Case No.3 and to adopt Resolution #07-09-237 <br />Adopting the "Proposed" 2008 General Fund Budget. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Look commented he believes Councilmember Elvig <br />referred to the $90,000 for seal coating in terms of additional discussion. Councilmember Ehrig <br />noted the $90,000 wasinc1uded as a place set for the seal coat policy, and there were other <br />comments regarding an additional police officer. He would like to have additional discussion on <br />both of those issues. Councilmember Strommen indicated the $90,000 has been placed in a <br />contingency category until Council completes those discussions. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Dehen, Elvig, Jeffrey, Look, <br />Olson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #9: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />1) Consider Ending the Probationary Period for a Utilities Maintenance Worker <br /> <br />Councilmember Jeffrey indicated Jeff Erickson was hired by the City Council on February 28, <br />2007 to fill the full-time regular Utilities Maintenance Worker position.. Mr. Erickson has <br />successfully completed the required six-month probationary period. Staff and the Personnel <br />Committee recommend that Jeff Erickson be removed from probation effective August 28,2007, <br />and that he be retained as a full-time regular Utilities Maintenance Worker. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilinember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee in Case No.1 and to adopt Resolution #07-09-238 <br />ending the probationary period for Jeff Erickson and granting status as a full-time regular <br />Utilities Maintenance Worker. <br /> <br />City Council / September 11, 2007 <br />Page 17 of22 <br /> <br />pgg <br />
