Dave Bawden
Chairperson, Planning Commission
15153 Nowthen Blvd
Ramsey, MN 55303

Jan 6, 1997

Dear Chairperson Bawden and Commission Members:

We respectfully request this letter be made part of the minutes of the regular Planning Commission meeting
of January 7, 1997.

At the December 1996 meeting, the Commission approved the minutes of November 7, 1996. We had
requested minutes of this meeting, but did not receive them until Friday, December 6,1996. It was at this
time we discovered several errors due to the complications of our case.

We attended the City Council meeting of December 10,1996, and Council agreed to have Bill Goodrich
research whether minutes could be changed after being approved. The City Council minutes also had several
errors. Council agreed not to approve the Planning minutes until the research was completed.

We were informed that minutes cannot be changed after being approved, but a letter could be submitted to
the Commission with the changes and the Commission could incorporate the letter into the minutes, thereby
[arifying the case.

Our intention is not to place blame or cause undo concern, but to correct the minutes. The following is what
we are requesting to be addressed:

Planning Commission Minutes and City Council Minutes:

1. Peter & Linda Mayer, 7190 175th Ave. N.W., Ramsey, MN 55303

2. Our neighbor is Mr. Craig Carlson. The easement in question gives passing rights to Mr. John
Peterson. The easement is located along the west side of Mr. Carlson's property and the south side of our
property.

3. We do not share a driveway with Mr. Peterson. He lives about 3 miles away.

4. The drainage is not blocked on Mr. Peterson's property, but on ours. The concern is probable future
water drainage relating to snow melt in Spring, 1997, resulting in potential water damage to the Mayer's
property.

Although these changes may appear to be minor, we feel it is important that the records be corrected,
showing that our neighbor, Mr. Carlson, shares the same concerns as we do regarding Mr. Peterson's
"driveway easement" and the related problems.

you for your time and consideration in this matter.
Peter & Linda Mayer
