Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #07 -10 - __ <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS, APPROVING A COMPREHENSIVE PLACES TO SHOP <br />AMENDMENT TO CHANGE A LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM <br />TO MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF OR AN <br />SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE <br />AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />WHEREAS, on August 14, 2006, the City of Ramsey received an ap Plan fr DPM <br />Investments (the "Applicant ") requesting an amendment to the Comprehensive <br />future land use designation from Places to Shop to Medium Density Residential, for the <br />following legally described property: <br />Lot 3, Block 4, Riverside West, Anoka County, Minnesota, according to the <br />recorded plat thereof and that part of Lot 1, Block 1, Riverview Bowl, Anoka <br />County, Minnesota according to the recorded plat thereof lying southerly of the <br />westerly extension of the north line of Lot 2, Block 1, said plat of Riverview Bowl. <br />(The Subject Property) <br />AND WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan approved in 2001 shows the Subject <br />Property designated land use as Places to Shop; and <br />WHEREAS, the property owners are requesting that the Subject Property's designated <br />land use be changed to Medium Density Residential; and <br />WHEREAS, the Subject Property is bordered on the north by a bowling alley, on the <br />west by mini - storage units and single - family homes, on the south by a vacant single - family lot, <br />and on the east by single - family homes; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed land use will /will not complement existing land uses in the <br />area; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ramsey Planning Commission met on September 7, <br />2006, conducted a <br />public hearing, and recommended that the Ramsey City Council deny the Applicant's request for <br />an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as : <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby approves /denies the request for a land use designation <br />change of the Subject Property from Places to Shop to Medium Density Residential. <br />—140— <br />
