Amy Geisler
Community Development Dept.
7550 Sunwood Drive NW
Ramsey, MN 55303
June 11, 2007
Dear Council Members,
I am submitting this letter in response to the re- zoning for the ebony
project. When we bought the property and built our home at 13470
Dolomite St. NW in 1996, the major attraction for us was that the
property to the right of us was zoned commercial. The property
behind us was also zoned commercial. However, for the first eight
years we had nothing but turmoil with the then owner of the
Superbowl, Mr. Holms. Our problems consisted of our privacy fence
being constantly damaged by the commercial buses being maintained
next to the fence, Junk being stored, and fluids being discharged. At
one time the fence was damaged to were . a large portion had to be
replaced. After 6 months of complaining to Mr. Holms and Silvia and
Chris of the city of Ramsey, Supplies were dumped off and I had to
re- install the fence.
When it was brought to my attention that Mr. Holms was involved with
the re- zoning of the property behind us and we received drawing of
the units planned for that. area I became very concerned. Concerned,
because of the small amount of space in which 6 units are being
crammed into that area. With Mr. Holm's history and the type of
neighbor he was, 1 believe he, and the city of Ramsey have no
intention of these units being nothing other than rental units. The
plans depict an area of tree preservation which removes many of the
trees we transplanted just over our property line to preserve privacy
when we built our home. I hope the council will consider the concerns
of the residents in this area. I understand the up- coming hearing is
not public, but as constituents we should have a voice.
Sincerely,
Dan & Lisa Jacobs
13740 Dolomite St. NW
763- 576 -9632
