Councilmember Strommen stated that she is not necessarily suggesting that the tower be moved <br />to a different location. She stated that she is just unsure whether the current zoning regulations <br />meet the City's needs given that they are fairly old. She stated that she feels this issue needs a <br />comprehensive review and will not be able to be resolved at tonight's meeting. <br />Mr. Edwards of T- Mobile stated that he is willing to grant a 60 -day extension to the City to <br />continue efforts of working with the City for an appropriate tower location. He stated that he <br />will get an official letter to the City as soon as possible granting this extension. <br />Motion by Councilmember Look, seconded by Councilmember Strommen, to table action on the <br />Request for a Conditional use Permit for a Telecommunications Tower in Alpine Park; Case of <br />T- Mobile USA, for 60 days to allow staff to continue to work with the applicant to find a <br />suitable tower location. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Look, Strommen, Dehen, Jeffrey, <br />and Olson. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Elvig <br />Case #16: Consider Outfield Fencing for Baseball Fields #2 and #3 at Alpine Park <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood stated that in early spring of 2007, the youth athletic association's <br />baseball program began discussion of outfield fencing for two of the four baseball fields at <br />Alpine Park. The total cost for the fencing will be $20,000, but the City's share will be only <br />$5,000. He stated that the City's funding source would be the Lawful Gambling Fund and the <br />remaining costs will be covered with money from the Anoka Ramsey Athletic Association and a <br />grant from the Minnesota Twins. <br />Councilmember Dehen asked why only two of the four fields were getting the fencing. <br />Parks Supervisor Riverblood stated that he anticipates that there will be a future request for <br />fencing for these fields as well as future grant opportunities, in the next few years. <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to adopt Resolution <br />#07 -09 -259, awarding $5,000 for outfield fencing of fields #2 and #3 at Alpine Park from the <br />Lawful Gambling Fund. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Olson, Dehen, Look, and <br />Strommen. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Elvig arrived at 9:08 p.m. <br />Case #4: Adopt Ordinance to Rezone Property from E -1 Employment to B -1 Business, <br />Case of TSM Development, Inc. <br />Community Development Director Trudgeon noted that this parcel is on the corner of Ramsey <br />Boulevard and Bunker Lake Boulevard and presented the proposed rezoning area map. <br />City Council / September 25, 2007 <br />Page 16 of 27 <br />
