Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #07- 10 -XXX <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE <br />POTENTIAL ACQUISITION OF THE BURY AND CARLSON PROPERTY FOR USE <br />AS A PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY <br />WHEREAS, the City has identified a need to acquire additional property to facilitate the <br />future needs of the Public Works Department; and, <br />WHEREAS, the 20 acre Bury and Carlson property, located east of Jaspar Street and <br />south of 143r Avenue is adjacent to the existing Public Works facility and has sufficient area to <br />facilitate the needed expansion of the Public Works Department; and, <br />WHEREAS, the owner of the Bury and Carlson property has approached the City for the <br />purpose of negotiating for the acquisition of the property. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />That the City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to; <br />1. Obtain an appraisal of the Bury and Carlson property, <br />2. Conduct a phase one environmental survey to assess potential concerns, and <br />3. Initiate negotiations for the acquisition of the property <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 9 day of October, 2007. <br />ATTEST: • Mayor <br />City Clerk <br />RESOLUTION #07- 10 -XXX <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />C 1 <br />—71- <br />
