5. Restrictions on hours of operation would need to be set. I believe there are rules that
exist already that regulate the operational hours and days for any type of construction
project. Noise levels are my main concern and I'm sure my neighbors also. Listening
to the pumps running around the clock all last summer at the Fox Knoll 2nd addition
project was not enjoyable.

6. What types of equipment would be used during the project. Will the area be
burdened with heavy equipment and will this equipment be a burden on the roads
leading into and out of the area in both traffic volume, wear and tear, and loose gravel
spilled over the roads. And if so who fixes it.

7. Would there be any on sight processing of the soil such as dryers, mixing silos,
sifting coveyors, ect... My concern here is simply unsightly processing equipment,
added noise, dust or fumes.

8. Wind and water erosion. Clearly with an excavation like this there would be alot of
exposed soil and dust from excavating equipment. From what I know the wind blows
alot up here. The hot summer winds come out of the south and I got to watch alot of
sand blow around last summer. There is population north and northeast of this area.
What measures would be taken to prevent the neighborhood from being sandblasted
during any windy periods. How will this project effect water run off.

9. How will the city benefit from this mining project and how will it benefit the people in
the surrounding area. ! was well aware this area would develop and I welcome
progress as long as it can be accomplished tastefully and in the best interest of those
of us who have been told Ramsey is a good place to live.

10. My environmental concerns are obvious. However I trust that environmental laws
and common sense will prevail over any unneccessary distruction of wetlands and
trees. Having moved from a fairly "sterile" suburb in Bloominton, I find it a privlage to
live in a growing community that has the ability to balance both it's progress and it's
natural resources equally.

When someone else's idea of good taste is hammered into the ground to deep it
cannot be removed, the community is stuck with it. I need to be assured that whatever
takes place I am not stuck looking at something that "sounded like a good idea at the
time", but ended up looking like a big monolith hammered deep into the pretty daisy
patch!

Thank you

Barry Childs
6040 151st Lane NW
Ramsey, MN 55303
(612) 576-5134
