Case #2: <br /> <br />Request for a Conditional Use Permit for an Overage in Garage and Accessory <br />Building Space; Case of Gary and Linda Grinde <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik reported that the subject property is .9 acres in size and restricted to a <br />total of 1488 square feet of garage and accessory building space. The Grinde's currently have a 988 <br />square foot 3-car garage in which their 3 vehicles are stored. They are proposing to construct a 672 <br />square foot garage in which to store their boat, snowmobiles and lawn equipment. The addition of <br />the proposed garage to the property will total 1,660 square feet of garage space for a 172 square foot <br />overage. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Terry to accept Findings of Fact <br />Nos. 1-8 as presented. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Deemer, Commissioners LaDue, Terry, and <br />Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairman Bawden, Commissioners Jensen and Holland. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Thorud and seconded by Commissioner Terry to approve Findings of Fact <br />Nos. 9 through 15 in the affirmative. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Deemer, Commissioners Thorud, Terry, and <br />LaDue. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairman Bawden, Commissioners Jensen and Holland. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Terry to accept the amended <br />Findings of Fact. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Deemer, Commissioners LaDue, Terry, and <br />Thorud. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairman Bawden, Commissioners Jensen and Holland. <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Deemer inquired regarding the normal 10-foot drainage setback. Mr. Grinde <br />stated there will be a ten foot setback from Mr. Borchard's property so that will be no problem. <br /> <br />Mr. Grinde inquired regarding easements on the school property. Acting Chairman Deemer clarified <br />the setback is six feet on the garage side and ten feet on the other side. Mr. Grinde inquired whether <br />the overhang is included in the setback. Zoning Administrator Frolik stated the setback is measured <br />from the overhang. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Thorud to recommend that City <br />Council adopt the amended Findings of Fact and approve Gary and Linda Grinde's request for a <br />conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Deemer, Commissioners LaDue, Thorud, and <br />Terry. Voting No: None.
