Mr. Rambosek stated that one real estate agent withdrew from handling the sale of his property, and
the one he is currently working with has been in the business for 11 years. He noted that while the
assessed property value may not change, the market value does change with the proximity of a
monopole. He does not believe that moving the tower 600 feet to the east would affect the function
of the tower.

Ms. Jane Butler stated that she is a cancer patient and asked about the safety of radiation emission.

Mr. Coyle responded that it is harmless. The tower emits less power wattage than the remote control
of a TV or a microwave oven. Radiation issues are exclusively regulated by the Federal
Communications Commission (FCC).

Commissioner Jensen asked if the City would receive a regulatory report from the FCC.

Mr. Coyle stated that the FCC does not prepare inspection reports. All companies in this business
are using the same type of technology, and it is all deemed to be safe.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Commissioner Deemer, seconded by Commissioner Terry to close the public hearing at
8:13 p.m.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Terry, Jensen and
LaDue. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Holland and Thorud.

Respectfully submitted,

Deann~ Gueblaot]!_,//
Recording Secretary
TimeSaver Off Site Secretarial

S~)[via~ Frolik '
Zoning Administrator

Public Hearing/Planning Commission/August 4, 1997
Page 3 of 3
