<br />Councilmember Olson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #07-08-191 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXTENSION OF USE OF 6701 HWY 10 NW FOR <br />YOUTH FIRST PROGRAM FOR TWO ADDITIONAL YEARS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey purchased the site at 6701 Highway 10 NW (former <br />NAU site) via RALF funds in preparation for the eventual re-constructionof Hwy 10; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, portions of 6701 Highway 10 NW have been leased for business purposes; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the south-eastern office space is currently leased to Youth First <br />programming for he Oak Terrace neighborhood and other Ramsey area youth; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the use of this space for the purposes supports the work of Youth First by <br />fulfilling the five promises of Youth First; which are: Caring Adults, Safe Places, A Health <br />Start, Marketable skills, and Opportunities to Serve; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is an economic develop~ent benefit to allowing the use of this space <br />for the purpose, which includes the presence of activity at the site, increased marketability of <br />neighboring office space, increased care and maintenance of the asset, and the collective effort of <br />the city's business and civic partners in support of the program. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the City Council of the City. of Ramsey authorizes the extension of the use of the <br />south-eastern office space at 6701 Highway 10 NW for Youth First programming through <br />the end of August 2009. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was dilly seconded by Councilmember. <br />Look, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br />
