Commissioner Levine did not think the vehicle count is the way to go. He thought they should
enforce what is already in place.
Commissioner Hunt stated if they can screen it and take away the eyesore that would solve the
problems with neighbors.
Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Van Scoy, to recommend that Staff
rework the amendment using alternative measures like requiring screening and considering size
of surface area in relations to size of parcel as a means of restrictions.
Further discussion: Commissioner Hunt stated another issue he wanted to bring up is when they
are talking about class five in the more rural areas, class five is an impervious surface and the
City is creating an issues of more run off of their property. He stated they need to keep the
ground water and aquifers and less run off. He stated every time they pass regulations to lay
down more asphalt and class five they are adding to the problem and he would prefer
something such as mulch which is easier to deal with the weeds and will create an area that will
hold the water and return it to the ground. He thought this is a good practical alternative to
eliminate run off.
Commissioner Van Scoy stated he would like to see a clarification as to what a vehicle is. He
did not know if this was an appropriate place to discuss trailer storage.
Chairperson Nixt and Commissioner Van Scoy accepted the additional recommendations.
Motion Carried.
