8) Request by James Provinzino to Purchase Remnant Parcel Owned by the <br />City <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that the Committee recommended that Mr. Provinzino be offered <br />$5,000 to retain the drainage and utility easement for the remnant parcel. <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to ratify the Public Works <br />Committee recommendation and communicate with Mr. Provinzino that the City would consider <br />a purchase price of $5,000, retaining all drainage and utility easements for the remnant parcel <br />between the property located at 6304 Highway 10 and Riverdale Drive and to get an opinion <br />from the City Attorney regarding compensation for access changes. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Olson, Dehen, Jeffrey, <br />Look, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br />9) Consider Acquisition of Tax Forfeit Property <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that the City has a 20 foot deep sanitary manhole located within <br />the parcel, which accepts discharge from the lift station. He stated that acquiring this parcel <br />would serve public purpose should the City ever need to repair the manhole. <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to ratify the Public <br />Works Committee recommendation and direct staff to file a written application to withhold <br />Outlot A Wildlife Sanctuary Addition from sale and that the City proceed to acquire the parcel <br />for drainage and utility purposes. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Dehen, Look, <br />Olson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br />10) Consider Appointing a Vice -Chair for the Public Works Committee <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that the Public Works Committee felt a Vice -Chair was needed and <br />recommended that Councilmember Dehen fulfill this role. <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to ratify the Public <br />Works Committee recommendation and appoint Councilmember Dehen as the Vice -Chair of the <br />Public Works Committee. <br />Further Discussion: Mayor Gamec stated that he feels all of the Committees should have Vice - <br />Chair's in the event that the Chair cannot make the meeting. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Dehen, Look, <br />Olson, and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br />City Council /October 9, 2007 <br />Page 24 of 25 <br />
