<br />CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, October 9, 2007, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Members Absent: None <br /> <br />Also Present: Acting City Administrator/Fimmce Officer Diana Lund- <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Community Development Director Patrick Trudgeon <br />Associate Planner Amy Geisler <br />. Police Chief James Way <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council to order at 7:03 p.m., <br />followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted that there were four students from Elk River High School present to observe <br />the City Council meeting for their government class and asked them to introduce themselves. <br />The students were Connor Nicholson, Jamie Kline, and Luke and Sinead Saderdown. He stated <br />that copies of tonight's agenda were available for them and other information could be obtained <br />during daytime hours from the City Hall. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Jeff Wise, 7901 - 165th Avenue NW, stated that he was here to request that the City look at <br />creating an ordinance to limit the amount of liquor licenses that are issued in the City. He stated <br />that most surrounding cities have a limit on how many liquor licenses they grant or they have <br />City owned liquor stores. He stated that he has been in business since 2001 and since then, there <br />have been three store closures. He stated that business closures are not good for anyone, <br />including the City, because prospective businesses look for healthy businesses and not closed <br /> <br />City Council /October 9, 2007 <br />Page 2 of 25 <br /> <br />P40 <br />
