<br />Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #07-_-_ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS, APPROVING A COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />AMENDl\,:ENT TO CHANGE A LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM PLACES TO SHOP <br />TO LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL AND AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO SUBMIT <br />AN APPLICATION TO THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR AN AMENDMENT <br />TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> <br />. WHEREAS, on October 9, 2007 the City Council directed Staff to advertise for a Public <br />Hearing on a proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendment to change the future land use <br />designation from Places to Shop to Low Density Residential, for the following legally described <br />property: <br /> <br />" Lot 3, Block 4, Riverside West, Anoka County, Minnesota, according to the <br />recorded plat thereof and that part of Lot 1, Block 1, Riverview Bowl, Anoka <br />County, Minnesota according to the recorded plat thereof lying southerly of the <br />westerly extension of the north line of Lot 2, Block 1, said plat of Riverview Bowl. <br /> <br />(The Subject Property) <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, .the Comprehensive Plan approved in 2001 shows the Subject <br />Property designated bnd use as Places to Shop; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 2006 the Property Owner applied for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment <br />to change the Subject Property's land use designation from Places to Shop to Medium-Density <br />Residential; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS~ on October 9, 2007 the City Council denied the Property Owner's <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment request, because the proposed land use would not be" <br />compatible with existing land uses surrounding the Subject PropertY; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on October 9, 2007 the City Council directed Staff to advertise a Public <br />Hearing for a Comprehensive Plan Amendment to' change the Subject Property's land use <br />designation from Places to Work to Low-Density Residential; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Subject Property is bordered on the north by a bowling alley, on the <br />west by mini-storage units and single-famify homes, on the south by single-family home under <br />construction, and on the east by singl~-family homes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed land use will/will not complement existing land uses in the <br />area; and <br /> <br />39 <br />
