PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Public Works Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, September 18; 2007, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota.. Members Present: Chairperson David Elvig Councilmember John Dehen Councilmember Mary Jo Olson Also Present: Public Works Director Brian Olson City Engineer Steve Jankowski Civil Engineer II Leonard Linton Civil Engineer IV Mike McDowell Public Works Supervisor Grant Reimer Utilities Supervisor John Nelson City Administrator Kurt Ulrich CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Elvig called the regular meeting of the Public Works Committee to order at 5:31 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT Scott Rothburn, 15370 Xkimo Street NE, stated that he had brought up the issue about the pond. at Highlands Park 2"d Addition at the July Public Works meeting. He stated that he has been talking with .Civil Engineer Mike McDowell and understands that the City is trying.. to locate whether there is a tear or leak in the liner. He stated that he has done his own research and found that there is 1 inch to 1.5 inches leaking per day. Public Works Director Olson stated that Mr. Rothburn is correct that there is leaking at the pond. He stated that the City has no proof of where or how the leak started. He stated that-the City h.as purchased dye pellets to see where the water is going. He stated that the City knows there is a leak, it is just a matter of locating where it is. He stated that the City has ordered more pellets to help more accurately determine where the leak is located. Councilmember Dehen asked if the leak has been found. Public Works Director Olson stated that the City is fairly confident there is a leak, but there have been. no soil borings or proof that soil has been removed around the liner.
