Staff further recommends that the code encourage the incorporation of organic matter <br />into the soil by providing an option to allow top soils with substandard organic content to <br />be allowed providing compost is incorporated into the final soil <br />Action: <br />Motion to recommend to City Council that staff be directed to prepare an ordinance <br />modifying City code to require six (6) inches of topsoil having a minimum organic <br />content of 10% in landscaped areas of all new developments including a clause that <br />allows substandard organic content to be allowed providing compost is incorporated into <br />the final soil. <br />Reviewed By: <br />Director of Public Works/Principal City Engineer <br />Environmental Coordinator <br />PW: 10/16/07 <br />-198- <br />
