Ramsey Police Department Monthly Report <br />September 2007 <br />General Police Statistics and Highlights <br />^ Counterfeit Checks <br />Coborn's management reported two males had tried to cash a counterfeit check at the <br />business. Officers arrived and located the males within the store. Both males were <br />arrested for possession of counterfeit checks. One of the males falsely represented <br />himself as an employee of the City of Ramsey to store employees. Suspects were <br />interviewed by investigators and during apost=Miranda statement one male admitted to <br />attempting to cash a known fraudulent Anoka County Human Services check for $953.24 <br />at Coborn's. The other male had in his possession a known fraudulent Anoka County <br />Human Services check for $890.51. <br />^ Controlled Substance Arrests <br />Officers were dispatched to the area on a report of a loud party at a residence. Officers <br />stopped a vehicle leaving the residence and arrested four juvenile occupants for underage <br />consumption of alcohol. During a search of the vehicle officers seized marijuana and <br />cocaine. Additional 2°d degree controlled substance charges were added for two of the <br />juveniles. <br />^ Hunting <br />Seven hunting permits were issued to landowners and 16 bow permits were issued. <br />^ Homicide Charges <br />In April, officers responded to check the welfare of a male. Upon accessing the home by <br />officers and family members, the male was found deceased. There was no sign of foul <br />play at the scene. A subsequent investigation conducted by Anoka County CID has <br />resulted in a request for homicide charges through the Anoka County Attorney's Office. <br />Additional details regarding the incident are not available until charges are filed. <br />^ Code Enforcement <br />Officers followed up on 23 ordinance violations. One citation was issued, two properties <br />are in the process of being abated by the City and five are pending (not in compliance). <br />^ Animal Control <br />Five dogs were impounded in September. -.All of them were released to their owners. <br />-14- <br />
