CSAH 57 Reconstruction <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />.~ <br />t ' ~ '~ ~, , <br />~ ~ ~ ~,r <br />( ~ _. r~ f i <br />Public nfOrr~o~ ~~er~ <br />.-~ ~~ments~& Pest~anses <br />T~e4foltowrng summarizes the public comments that were .received in response <br />to the information provided at the Apri119, 2007 public meeting. <br />COMMENT: Reconstruction of CSAH 57 should include a median opening <br />between TH 10 and the railroad crossing to supply full access to the westerly <br />businesses: - <br />RESPONSE: Defined by the Metropolitan Council as an A-Minor Arterial <br />Expander Highway, County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 57 has mobility rather <br />than land access as its primary purpose. To maintain sufficient mobility and <br />implement consistent mobility standards for given roadway classifications and <br />speeds, Anoka County has adopted access spacing standards. These <br />standards call for an A-minor arterial roadway with a posted speed between 40- <br />45 mph to have full-movement public intersections at a 114 mile (1320') spacing. <br />Providing a median opening at the Sunfish Commonsentrance (a private <br />entrance located less than 500'- from TH 10) would not meet the minimum <br />spacing standard, nor would it meet the County's criteria of adding only public <br />median openings.
