CASE <br />CONSIDER PAYMENT OF RELOCATION BENEFITS <br />FOR TENANT AT PROPERTY AT 6165 HWY 10 NW <br />By: William K. Goodrich, City Attorney <br />Background: <br />The City has acquired title to the property located at 6165 Hwy 10 (the "Site") through use of the <br />RALF program. The closing on the property was held on October 26, .2007. There are two <br />residential homes located on the site. One has been vacated and the other is occupied by a tenant. <br />c Water service for the occupied home is from the unoccupied home. The City is obligated to pay <br />relocation benefits to the tenant. The City's relocation consultant has determined that the tenant is <br />eligible for $1.5,246.00 in relocation assistance. See attached Wilson Development Services letter <br />dated November 2, 2007 detailing the relocation benefits available to the tenant. <br />Tlie RALF program does not reimburse the City for relocation benefits until the Site is conveyed to <br />MnDOT and therefore the City needs to pay the relocation benefits now and wait to be reimbursed. <br />Enclosures: <br />November 2, 20071etter from Wilson Development to the tenant at 6165 Hwy 10 NW advising of <br />his 90 day Notice to Vacate and Notice of Comparable Housing; <br />November 2, 2007 letter from Wilson Development advising tenant at 6165 Hwy 10 NW of his <br />Relocation eligibility; <br />Site map identifying the Site location. <br />Recommendation: <br />Approve relocation benefits in an amount not to exceed $16,000 for the tenant residing at 6165 Hwy <br />10 NW. <br />Funding Source: <br />Public Improvements Revolving Fund ("PIIZ Fund") <br />Council Action: <br />.
