CONSENT# ~' <br />INTRODUCTION OF 2008 SCHEDULE OF RATES, FEES AND CHARGES AND CALL <br />FOR A PUBLIC HEARING <br />By: Diana Lund, Finance Officer <br />Background: <br />Effective.June 30, 1991, Ordinance #91-08 amended S7.01.10 of the City Code to~allow the City <br />Council to annually set fees. <br />The City is allowed to annually adopt the Schedule of Rates, Fees and Charges by Resolution, <br />but the City has chosen to adopt its entire schedule by ordinance. Ordinance adoption provides <br />the opportunity for comments at a Public Hearing and gives adequate time (30 days) before the <br />rates go into effect. <br />.Attached is the Schedule of Rates, Fees and Charges which includes the adopted 2007 and the <br />changes for which the proposed 2008 schedule is arrived at. <br />The above rate increases take into effect staff recommendations, industry standards, rates charged <br />by neighboring cities, and annual increases based on inflation. <br />Funding Source: <br />None required <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Introduce Ordinance #07-XX- 2008 Schedule of Rates, Fees and Charges and calling for a public <br />Hearing on November 27, 2007. <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to introduce Ordinance #07-XX - 2008 Schedule of Rates; Fees and Charges and calling <br />for a public hearing. <br />Reviewed By: <br />City.
