Councilmember Peterson stated there has been significant discussions on the use of the fight-of-way and <br />that there will be future meeting regarding who can use the fight-of-way. Councilmember Zimmerman <br />explained that this stems from USWest vs. Redwood Falls. He explained that different companies want <br />to be able to dig up other companies lines and the City would lose control of the right-of-way. City <br />Admini~tor Ry~ Schroeder stated that PCS Towers would also be an area of concern in the future as <br />companies are coming in wanting to erect towers. <br /> <br />Commissioner Thorud asked about a cable that was strung above his street as there were already cables <br />underground. He explained that he was told this cable would be removed three years ago and it is still <br />there. Mr. Jankowski recalled this was not a new aerial cable and it was still in use. Mr. Schroeder stated <br />he would contact the cable company regarding this. <br /> <br />Commissioner Holland thanked Linda Waite Smith on the quality of work regarding her research project <br />on the recruiting and training of Commission and Council members. Councilmember Zimmerman agreed <br />that Commission members should have input on recommending a person to City Council. <br /> <br />Planning Commission members thanked Council members and Stafffor the appreciation dinner. <br /> <br />Commissioner Thorud expressed that he would like to have more joint meetings with City Council. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Thorud and seconded by Commissioner Jensen to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Thorud, Jensen, Deemer, Holland, <br />and Terry. Voting No: None.
