PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public heating on Tuesday, July 2, 1996, at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, 1Wmnesota to hear input regarding a <br />Request to Rezone Certain Property from R-1 Rural Residential to R-3 Urban Residential; Case of New <br />Life Church. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Paul Holland <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden called the public hearing to order at 7:36 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik explained that there was a purchase agreement for the property East <br />ofT.H. ~47. She explained that a dmrch was not allowed in the R-1 zoning and was allowed in the R-3 <br />zoning; therefore, New Life Church has applied for rezoning. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Leonard Simon, 17349 St. Francis Boulevard, explained they had a fire about a month ago and were in <br />the process of rebuilding. He stated he bordered the property on the North and East and welcomed a <br />church next to them. Mr. Simon asked if the rezoning would be to allow a church only. Ms. Frolik <br />responded in the affmnative. Mr. Simon explained they were horse owners and had some safety <br />concems. He expressed the need for a safety fence to border the property. <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden expressed his desire for the church to work with the Simons regarding any concems <br />they may have. <br /> <br />Public Hearing/Planning Commission/July 2, 1996 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
