PUBLIC ]tEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, September 3, 1996, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input regarding <br />a Proposed Ordinance to Amend the R-1 and R-2 Residential Districts to Allow Churches as Permitted <br />Uses. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Paul Holland <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden called the public hearing to order at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik explained that the City Council has requested amending Ramsey City <br />Code to allow churches in the R-1 and R-2 districts. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Thomd to amend the proposed <br />ordinance to clarify that the conversion of a church to a business will not be allowed without a <br />conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bawden, Commissioners Deemer, Thorud, Holland, Jensen, <br />LaDue, and Terry. Voting No: None.
