PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Tuesday, September 3, 1996, at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota to hear input <br />regarding a Request for a Conditional Use Permit for an Off-Site Advertising Sign; Case of Holm's <br />Super Bowl. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Bawden <br />Commissioner Benjamin Deemer <br />Commissioner Paul Holland <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br />Comrmssioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Michael Terry <br />Commissioner Bradley Thorud <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Bawden called the public hearing to order at 7:48 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik explained that Holm's Super Bowl, Inc. is requesting a <br />Conditional Use Permit for an off-site advertising sign. She explained that City Code restricts off-site <br />advertising signs. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Wayne Bidwell stated that the sign on Highway #10 was necessary, due to the business being located <br />one block from Highway #10. He pointed out that a sign has been there for a number of years, and <br />was removed for reasons beyond the applicant's control. Mr. Bidwell stated that this was a request <br />to replace the sign. <br /> <br />Bill Dubats explained that he was the owner of the property and requested approval of the <br />Conditional Use Permit. Mr. Dubats pointed out that there has been a sign there since 1979. He <br />explained that the sign would be consistent with the neighborhood.
