PLANNING COMMISSION
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a regular meeting on November 7, 1996, at the Ramsey
Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota.

Members Present:

Chairperson David Bawden
Commissioner Benjamin Deemer
Commissioner Sharon Jensen
Commissioner Charles LaDue
Commissioner Michael Terry
Commissioner Bradley Thorud

Members Absent: Commissioner Paul Holland

Also Present:

Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik
Planning Intern Krik Skoog

CALL TO ORDER

Chairperson Bawden called the regular meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

Commissioner Deemer arrived at 7:32 p.m.

CITIZEN INPUT

Mrs. Linda Mayer, 7190 175th Avenue N.W., Ramsey, stated her intended purpose for appearing
before the Commission was to state for the record her and her husband's concerns regarding a
problem with their neighbor's (Mr. Peterson) private easement. Currently, the Mayers share a
driveway with Mr. Peterson. Mr. Peterson has widened and elevated the driveway in such a manner
which impedes proper drainage of water from the Mayer's property. As well, widening of the
driveway has caused entrance into the wetlands. Because water drainage is currently an issue, there
are even greater concerns of probable future water drainage relating to snow melt in Spring, 1997,
resulting in potential water damage to the Mayer's home. Mrs. Mayer indicated she and her husband
have been working with City Engineer Steve Jankowski in hopes to explore all of their options. The
DNR has also been notified, and respective parties visited the site on October 25, 1996.

Planning Commission/November 7, 1996
