CASE AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF WORKSTATIONS AND REMODELING TO VARIOUS AREAS OF THE MUNICIPAL CENTER By: Jessie Hart, Finance Officer Background: Included in the 1996 Adopted General Fund Budget is $76,304 to provide for workstations and some remodeling to Administrative :Services (remaining 4 work stations) Finance Department, Community Development (lower level offices) and to remodeling as necessary to the Police Department area once the new Police facility is complete. It is anticipated that the workstations and any other office area furnishings would be purchased through either the Hennepin County Purchasing Cooperative or the State of Minnesota Cooperative Purchasing Venture which complies with bid laws. It is anticipated that one of the current intems would have the ability to do some of the space planning and make recommendations as to uses of various equipment and furnishings (existing and new). Any remodeling (carpeting, painting, etc.) would be done in-house, to the extent possible, or acquired through a quotation process. Although not expected, if the budget becomes constrained, the top priorities will be to complete the Community Development area and reuse of the existing police space. Staff Recommendation: Committee approval to proceed with the space needs analysis and purchase of workstations and remodeling to Administrative Services, Finance Department, Community Development and the existing Police area pursuant to the above.
