CASE # SCHEDULE MEETING WITH ANOKA COUNTY HIGHWAY REGARDING DESIRED COUNTY HIGHWAY SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT By: Steven J. Jankowski, City Engineer Background: It has been Council's direction to encourage the County Board to consider certain highway improvements within the City. I have contacted Jon Olson, County Highway Engineer, to discuss the preferred method for encouraging specific improvements which the City may be interested in having the County undertake. Mr. Olson indicated that several communities have sent letters of support for certain projects which he then presents to the County's public works committee. At the present time, the County's public works committee is scheduled to meet on March 25, 1996, to consider next year's Five Year Plan. There would still be time to prepare a letter indicating our desires for projects to be considered. Attached is a copy of the County's current Five Year Plan. Also below is a list of potential improvements on the County Highway System which should be considered. 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) Realignment of C.S.A.H. #5 and T.H. #47 Extension of C.R. #116 from C.R. #56 to C.R. #83 Extension of C.R. #116 from C.R. #83 to T.H. #10 Additional traffic lanes C.R. #116 from T.H. #47 to C.R. #57 Additional traffic lanes C.R. #57 from C.R. #116 to T.H. #10 Reconstruct C.R. #83 from C.R. #63 to C.R. #22 Reconstruct C.S.A.H. #27 (179th Lane) from C.R. #7 to T.H. #47 Currently, the County's Five-Year Plan for 1996 through 2000 has identified only project 2 for 1998. Projects 1, 6 and 7 are acknowledged, but are scheduled for some time beyond the year 2000. The remaining projects are not considered in the five-year plan.
