This is a replacement for Unit #618. This
would be used primarily for parks and utilities but is also the designated "snow emergency" vehicle for
the Police Department. She stated that the total bid for the truck, plow, topper, license and registration
comes to $23,658.37. That exceeds the budgeted amount but staff will attempt to trade the existing unit.
She added that the overage can be absorbed within the general operating budget.

Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to adopt Resolution
#96-02-041 authorizing the purchase of one 3/4-ton 4 x 4 with snow plow and topper.

Motion carried. He requested a letter proposal for this work from both Hakanson Anderson Associates
and MSA, Inc. He is recommending Hakanson Anderson be awarded the bid based on economic
considerations.

City Council/February 27, 1996
