09/11/96
Informal Neighborhood Meeting

The number of houses surrounding our neighborhood has increased; with only one road improvement
made, the paving of the north section of Bison Street. That paving has had little impact on the traffic
cutting through our neighborhood. A petition submitted during a City Council Meeting to keep 171st as
a thoroughfare supports this position. Our neighborhood deserves a permanent solution. The only
option left that cannot be abused is to permanently close off 171st Ave NW to through motor traffic but
allow emergency vehicles, pedestrians, and bike traffic via a tar pathway.

We have no other options considering the harassment and intimidation discussed earlier.

We cannot speak out about this issue without being ridiculed and harassed.

Following is a petition to be presented tonight which reads:

"To ensure the safety of our children and the quality of life in our neighborhood we the undersign
request that 171st Avenue NW between Zeolite Street and Bison Street remain closed to through traffic
and connect 171st Avenue NW to Bison Street with a paved bicycle path."

Sincerely,

Timothy J. Dusbabek
7821 171st Ave. NW Ramsey, MN
