City Council § 2.01 <br /> <br /> Subd. 3. Majority Requirement. A majority of all members of the <br />council shall be necessary for approval of any ordinance unless a larger number is required by <br />statute. Except as otherwise provided by statute, a majority vote of a quorum shall prevail in all <br />other cases. <br /> <br />2.01.06 Ordinances, Resolutions, Motions, Petitions and Communications. <br /> <br /> Subd. 1. Writing Requirement. Every ordinance and resolution shall <br />be presented in writing and shall be read in full before a vote is taken thereon, but reading in full <br />may be dispensed with by unanimous consent. All motions shall be recorded in the minutes and <br />stated in full before they are submitted to a vote by the presiding officer. All petitions and other <br />communications addressed to the council shall be in writing and shall be read in full upon <br />presentation to the council. They shall then be recorded in the minutes by title and filed with the <br />minutes in the office of the Clerk. <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. Signature. Every ordinance and resolution passed by the council <br />shall be signed by the mayor, attested by the Clerk, and filed in the ordinance or resolution book. <br />Proof of publication of every ordinance shall be attached to and filed with the ordinance. <br /> <br /> Subd. 3. Repeal of Previous Ordinance and Resolution. Every <br />ordinance or resolution repealing a previous City Code provision or resolution or section thereof <br />shall give the number, if any, and the rifle of the City Code provision or resolution to be repealed in <br />whole or in part. No City Code provision or resolution or section thereof shall be amended by <br />reference to the title alone, but such amending ordinance or resolution shall set forth in full each <br />section to be amended. <br /> <br />2.0 1.0 7 Committees. The council may create such committees, standing or special, as it <br />deems necessary. Such committees shall consist of as many members and perform such duties as <br />the council may require. <br /> <br />2.01.08 Suspension or amending of the rules. These rules, or any of them, may be <br />temporarily suspended by a majority vote of all of the council members and shall not be repealed or <br />amended except by a majority vote of the whole council after notice has been given at some <br />preceding council meeting. <br /> <br />2.01.09 Salaries. <br /> <br /> Subd. 1. Mayor. The salary of the Mayorofthe City ofRamsey shalI be $500 <br />per month ($6,000 per year). <br /> <br /> Subd. 2. City Council. The salary of each Council member of the City of <br />Ramsey shall be $375 per month ($4,500 per year). <br /> <br />2.02 Economic Development Authority <br /> <br />2.0 2.0 1 Establishment. The City of Ramsey hereby establishes the Ramsey Economic <br />Development Authority (the "EDA"). The EDA shall be governed by a board of commissioners <br />consisting of the five members of the city Council, and the term of each commission of the EDA <br />shall coincide with that commissioner's term of office as a member of the City Council. The <br />purpose of the EDA is to promote the economic, commercial, housing, and industrial development <br />and redevelopment of the City and in order to consolidate the activities undertaken by the City in <br />those areas. <br /> <br />Printed 4/3/95 Page 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
