FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, July 23, 1996, at the <br />Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Carolyn Beahen <br />Councilmember Shcila Bcyer <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Members Absent: Mayor Glen Hardin <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br />Finance Officer Jessie Hart <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith <br />Police Chief Mike Auspos <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER: <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 6:03 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Consider Budget Amendment to Replace One and Add One <br /> Preliminary Breath Testers (Alco-Sensors) <br /> <br />Finance Officer Hart stated that the Police Department uses Preliminary Breath Testers (PBT's) in <br />law enforcement in the City of Ramsey. The Department had been operating with two PBT's until <br />recently when one was "lost". For whatever reason, the PBT's had not been included on the <br />listing of fixed assets and, therefore, had not been funded for replacement in any manner. Chief <br />Auspos is requesting replacement of the lost PBT plus the addition of one to bring the complement <br />to three units. The units can be purchased for a cost of $334 each. Chief Auspos is requesting the <br />funding come from the Drug Forfeiture/Police Special Fund. This fund currently has a balance of <br />$5,(}00. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to recommend that <br />Council adopt the resolution authorizing a budget amendment allocating $700 for the purchase of <br />two preliminary breath testers (Alco-Sensors). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Beyer, Zimmerman, Beahen and Peterson. Voting <br />No: None. Absent: Mayor Hardin. <br /> <br />Case #2: Request to Enter Into a Contract for Police Records Retention <br /> Services <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith stated that Ramsey does not have a consistent <br />records retention system for all departments.
