<br />Councilmember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #08-08-163 <br /> <br />REQUESTING AUTHORIZATION TO CANCEL CLEANING CONTRACT <br />AND RECRUIT A PART-TIME BUILDING MAINTENANCE WORKER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is important that City facilities are clean and presentable for use by <br />residents, business owners and employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, cancelling the cleaning contract and bringing this service in-house will save <br />$2,600 in 2008 and $16,000 in 2009; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, cancelling the cleaning contract and bringing this service in-house ~11 give <br />the City greater control over the long term condition of its facilities. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1. Authorize staff to cancel the cleaning contract for the Municipal Center <br />2. Direct staff to begin a recruitment process for a part-time regular (24 hrs/wk) Building <br />Maintenance Worker with an anticipated start date of November 3, 2008. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Olson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />None <br />
